The short version
Some links on this site go to GetYourGuide. If you book a tour or a ticket after following one, GetYourGuide pays us a commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid going there directly. The commission comes out of the operator’s margin, not out of your pocket, and there is no surcharge, markup or handling fee anywhere on this site.
Which links
GetYourGuide tour and ticket links are the only commercial links we use. Hotel pages link to the property’s own website. We do not run car-hire, insurance or flight-search widgets, and we do not sell advertising space on the page.
What it does not change
It does not change what we recommend, what order we rank things in, or what we are willing to say about a paid product. The clearest test of that is on the page: we tell readers that the city’s cheapest bookable attraction, the tourist train, rates 3.9 out of 5 across more than three hundred reviews and that we would not buy it. We tell them the free fado session at Café Santa Cruz is the place to start, and that the free botanical garden is the largest attraction in Coimbra. None of those sentences earns us anything.
We also do not accept payment for inclusion, for a ranking position or for a review. No operator, hotel or restaurant on this site has paid to be here, and none has seen its page before publication.
Why we disclose it this way
Because a reader who understands how a site is paid for can judge what it says. Burying the commercial relationship in small print, or calling it something vaguer than it is, would ask you to trust us while withholding the one fact you would need in order to decide whether to.
